Intermediate Heritage Planner

Lisa Coles is an Intermediate Heritage Planner with experience working in heritage consulting and the not-for-profit museum sector. She holds a Master of Arts in Planning from the University of Waterloo; a Graduate Certificate in Museum Management & Curatorship from Fleming College; and a B.A. (Hons) in History and French from the University of Windsor.
Lisa has consulting experience in heritage planning, evaluation, Heritage Impact Assessment, Cultural Heritage Policy Review, historical research, and interpretive planning. She has been a Project Manager for Cultural Heritage Evaluation Reports and Heritage Impact Assessment projects. Lisa has provided heritage planning support to municipalities including work on heritage permit applications, work with municipal heritage committees, and review of municipal cultural heritage policies and guidance. Her work has involved a wide range of cultural heritage resources including institutional, industrial, commercial, and residential properties, structures, and areas in urban, suburban, and rural environments.
Lisa is experienced in museum and archive policy development, exhibit development, interpretation, and public programming. She has written museum policies, public programs, and interpretive plans. She is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and full member with the Ontario Professional Planning Institute (OPPI), and a full member with the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).
